“Segezha Group” is working on a new line of paper products

The Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov discussed the mill production activities and social projects with Maxim Pisarev, the Vice President of the PAO “Segezha Group and the CEO of the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill, during a working visit to the Segezha District.

Segezha key industrial enterprise, the pulp and paper mill (part of the PAO Segezha Group), is striving to maintain its workpace despite external economic constraints in the forestry industry. In addition to the Russian market, the company products continue to attract interest from China, Turkey, India, South Korea, Africa, and the CIS. In collaboration with the Russian largest automobile manufacturer, KAMAZ, testing of a new line of import-substituting vehicles for the Russian forestry industry is also underway.

Segezha Group is currently working on expanding the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill product line. To this end, the research is underway at the laboratories of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. The specialists are developing technologies for production of three types of paper: impregnated (soaked in a special compound), moisture-resistant, and meat wrapping. Once the researchers determine the optimal technological processes, the mill will begin production of the new paper products.

Another area the parties discussed during the working meeting was social support for Segezha. Maxim Pisarev explained that in April 2026, with the company support, the Sports Palace of “Segezha Group hosted the first-ever final of the Russian volleyball championship for girls under 19.

The head of the Pulp and Paper Mill noted that a major sporting event, ZaBeg, will be held in late August and September with the support of the Pulp and Paper Mill. A large number of running enthusiasts are expected to participate. The funds have been allocated for the event. Also in 2026, the children's boxing section, an organization sponsored by the mill, will receive new equipment and sports gear worth almost 500,000 rubles, and almost 3 million rubles have been allocated for the installation of several new playgrounds. The specialists are currently determining the locations for these playgrounds. This year plans include environmental events, including tree planting in the city.

The plant also supports the city cultural life. In 2026, music lovers can look forward to the 30th anniversary of the rock festival Rybka. It will be held with the financial support of the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill.

Artur Parfenchikov thanked Maxim Pisarev for his attention to the interests of the city residents and emphasized the Government of Karelia readiness to continue cooperation with Segezha city-forming enterprise.
