Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill products received high praise from the jury at the contest “100 Best Products of Russia”
The products of the Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill (part of the forestry holding company “Taiga Group”), presented at the contest “100 Best Products of Russia”, received one gold and three silver awards. They were recognized for their high quality standards in the categories “Industrial and Technical Products” and “Industrial Goods for the Population”.
The company flagship product, 42 g/m² thin newsprint, received the jury's highest rating, was named a laureate and was included in the top 100 best products of 2025. The diploma and silver medal winners included EKKO consumer-sized printing and writing paper, 60 g/m², “BKR” and “B-2” corrugated cardboard inner-layer paper, 42 g/m² to 80 g/m², and 45 g/m² and 48.8 g/m² newsprint.
Sergey Baidin, the Managing Director of the Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill, was awarded the honorary badge “For Achievements in Quality” as one of the best managers. Elena Tarasova, the Head of the KPPM Production Laboratory, received the personalized award “Excellent Quality Worker”. The awards ceremony took place on December 11 in St. Petersburg.

Newsprint is a traditional and widely known product of the Kondopoga PPM. It was the first product in the USSR to receive the “Quality Mark” and be exported abroad. Today, this product remains in demand in the printing industry. It is used for Russian as well as international publications. Türkiye and India are the main buyers of the Kondopoga PPM 42 g/m² newsprint outside of Russia. Paper machines No. 8 and No. 5 specialize in producing this good, which is included in the “Golden Hundred”.
The company introduced EKKO A4 office paper at the end of 2021. It is made from natural wood fiber, making it environmentally friendly and recyclable. Today, EKKO is in demand in many regions of Russia.
The Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill began producing paper for the inner layers of corrugated cardboard in 2019. It finds customers both in Russia and abroad.
“100 Best Products of Russia” is a prestigious annual nationwide competition, one of the most important in terms of product quality for domestic manufacturers. It aims to increase consumer confidence in the Russian goods and services, as well as the competitiveness of these products and services, and to saturate the market with innovative and environmentally friendly offers.
The competition is organized by the MOO “Academy of Quality Problems” and is implemented with the active participation of the regional Standardization, Metrology, and Testing Centers under a public-state partnership and cooperation agreement with Rosstandart. Thousands of enterprises from virtually every region of the country participate in the competition annually. Due to its consistent scale, democratic approach, and two-stage selection process (regional and federal), it has remained popular among manufacturers since 1998.
The winners and diploma recipients of the contest have the right to label their products with the logo “100 Best Products of Russia” for two years. This logo on packaging informs consumers of the product quality and its compliance with thee modern requirements.
Previously, the Kondopoga PPM products were awarded at the contest “100 Best Products of Russia” in 2023. The EKKO A4 consumer paper received gold, newsprint and corrugated cardboard inner-layer paper received silver, and Lyubov Baranovskaya, a controller of the KPPM quality control department, was the first to receive the title “Excellent Quality Award” in the company history.
In 2025, the Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill products also received awards at the competition “All-Russian Brand (3rd Millennium). Quality Mark of the 21st Century”. The experts highly praised the newsprint, thin newsprint, grade corrugated inner-layer paper “BKR”, consumer-size printing and writing paper, and printing paper.
