A reverse business mission with participation of the delegation from the Republic of Serbia began in Petrozavodsk.

On August 19, a reverse business mission began in Petrozavodsk, featuring a delegation of entrepreneurs and a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Serbia. The event was organized by the Karelia Export Support Center Foundation with the support of the regional government as part of the national project “International Cooperation and Export”.

The business program was opened by Oleg Yermolaev, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Karelia. In the welcome address, he noted that the Serbian delegation's visit is an important step toward building a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership between the regions.

– We are honored to host a delegation from the Republic of Serbia, which includes the heads of the leading travel agencies and food industry companies. We see this visit as more than just a business meeting, but a unique opportunity for direct dialogue, so that the Karelian and the Serbian businesses can get to know each other better, discuss the prospects for cooperation, and reach specific agreements, – emphasized Oleg Ermolaev.

Negotiations are underway on two key areas of mutual interest: tourism services and the food industry. The Serbian delegation includes the representatives of the pilgrimage agency “Dobrocinstvo”, the tour operators “Glob Metropolitan Tours” and “Rubicon Travel”, and the food distributors “PeCo” and “M-S Hermes”.

More than 20 companies are participating in the negotiations on behalf of Karelia, including the key players in the tourism market: the OOO “Kaleva Tour”, the OOO “Vasha Karelia”, the OOO “PetroMax”, the OOO “Tourholding Rodina”, as well as the food and beverage producers: the OOO “Karelskoye Leto”, the OOO TD “Foreliya”, and others.

The business program includes individual B2B negotiations, as well as familiarity with the regional tourist routes and production facilities. The parties hope that these two days will mark the beginning of long and fruitful collaboration to expand trade and economic ties between the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Serbia.
